Can anyone tell me what is Peopesoft HRMS Functional and what is generally the Job Description of such professionals in these fields.If any one is interested in further taking their career in this field,what course they should undergo and what would be the initial package.

PeopleSoft is an ERP package by Oracle.
Being a functional consultant you are responsible to firstly understand client's HR practices ad policies. Then you map such to the delivered features of PeopleSoft and also ascertain to what extent customizations are required.
You have to prepare function designs , do some configurations once the system is developed by tech team , u also have to test the system whether its on the same lines with what you had prepared in the functional design docs.
Its always advisable to have some technical background with some knowledge about HR.
There is a certification for same by Oracle .
The initial package offered for a fresher is around 3 lacs p.a.

I ma not very sure on the cost part but they both the modules available for learning i.e. classroom trainign and e-learning. You can choose either of it.

As far as my knowledge reaches you need not be a certified professional in using these systems. When an organisation decides to migrate from the legacy system to online stuff, they get in touch with these people who customise and design sytems as per organisations requiremnet. They all place their own trained resources on site for training and implementing the system. This makes the work even more easier. Rest is the backend management job, which is as good as handling any online portal of the department (sharepoints). To name a few Polaris - Adrenalin, Empower, HRIS, Peoplesoft etc.
These courses are very demanding and cost is equally very high anywhere between 2-3lakh.
I have myself been working on systems since the time i started my career. Worked on most of them and dont have any certifications or academics in particular. Its my personal inclination and passion towards it. Orientation to these systems has also helped me to design sharepoints for my organisations.

Oracle time to time conducts training on different modules of Peoplesoft but they are very expensive and mostly only in metros.
These certifications help professional with either peoplesoft technical background to get into functional side or HR and other professional to become peoplesoft ERP function consultants.
These certification will not be of much use to a fresher ( getting a break only with this training only will be very very difficult)
