Is it mandatory for all the employees to sign in the Pay register.Got a register from main office asking me to get the employees signed from Apr' 09- Till date.Salary break up of other employees are mentioned .Im worried that it may create some disturbances when signing in the register.
Note:When we have salary statement, giving pay slips, having bank statement for salaries, do we have to maintain a pay register.
Kindly advice on this.

No It is not mandatory. Please check whether your organisation comes under the perview of shops and establishment or not. Then go through the Shops & Establishment act applicable to your state. You can send a written request to Shop & Establishment authority stating that you will store all HR related records in electronic form for your organisation and that you send electronic pay slips to all your employees.
In this way, signing of register would not be mandatory/applicable to your organisation.

Sorry for the delay in replying..Thank you for the info..As Mudibhan said, its is not mandatory..we have produced our salary statements and bank statement as a proof that we are paying the employees. For some of them we have produced payslips as a proof to Labor Welfare Dept..

we want to establish an officers club within our industry. our intention is to make get together for all our employees and their families for a fun purpose. Wherein, we are planning to collect nominal contribution from each of the employees. the objective is to make workplace more stress less and to involve each of the member for fun.
hence, do you have any SOP / policy for the same.
