Dear All Seniors

We have one Production supervisor , remained absent from duties without prior intimation or leave, we have issued him Telegram, Advisory Note, Show Cause Notice and than chargesheet , after words intiated disciplinary inquiry by third party, by that time employee came and claim for starting job, he explained that he went in Middle east for Job on visitors visa for one month job, due to poor condition and ill health of his mother , he was in need of money, so he went for earning hansom amount to bear cost of medical treatment. I have started inquiry and he remained present in all sitting and excepts his mistake. Now, Management wants me to ask about practice of other industries before taking any action against him ,therefore what kind of (Fair ) punishment to be decided on the basis of practice prevelling in industries ? I said management that some punishment to be given otherwise i could not set example before others and in future other employee can also follow such practises
Now, i need all seniors comments to decide the nature of punishment,.
Pl. help me out.
