Dear Sir, As per the Bonus Act, the minimum bonus to be paid is 8.33% of BASIC + D.A. The minimum ceiling is Rs.3500.00, A Employee drawing more than Rs.3500 (Basic + DA) what will be his eligibility for the bonus?

Hi Xavier,
If the Employees Basic + DA = 3500, then bonus is 292 pm.
If the employees Basic + DA = 3500 or greater, then also the bonus is limited to 292 pm.
If the Employees Basic +DA = 3000, then bonus is 250 pm.
Hope this is clear.

Employee is eligible for bonus who drawing wages( Basic+DA) up to Rs.10000/- PM or Less ( 8.33 % OR 20%)
For calculation purpose Rs.3500/- PM max. wiill be taken even if an employee is drawing upto Rs.10000/- PM.
Its mgt discretion for paying Ex-gratia for above Rs.10000/-wages
( Basic+DA).

Mr.Surjeet,
You shall take only Basic + DA for Bonus calculation not Gross. The employees, those are getting Rs.3500/-(Basic+DA) and below are only eligible for bonus as per Bonus Act.

Refer the Gazette notification of India, about "The Payment of Bonus (Amendment) ordinanance, 2007 dated 27.10.2007 to raise the eligibility limit for payment of bonus from the salary or wages of Rs. 3500 per month to Rs. 10000/- per month.

suppose IF BASIC - 2500 DA=1500 & HIS BASIC & DA BECOME =4000 APART
FROM THIS HE GET HRA 1000 , CA 800 MEDICAL ALLL : 2000 ED. ALL OWN =200
HIS SAL BECOMES 8000
HERE IN KARNATAK ON ALLOWNCAES P.T. IS GOING TO DEDUCT IE. 100 RS.
