Hi All, I am a new member of this group and i have a query. I need to know the steps that an instructional designer takes while designing a workshop. I have read enough theoretical books on the same so i already know the theory and the models. I want to know the process in real life.
I need to know the answers for the following questions in particular:
what are the steps in designing a workshop?
Templates that are used (and their sources)
How do you deal with copyright issues when you are taking material from another source.
testing (if any) of the course material
any other detail that i have missed
I am planning to get into the field of training and development and trying to familiarize myself in this field
Will greatly appreciate the help
Thanks a ton

hi
I am a student of MBA and i like to give you some information on this regard.
while designing the Training program, one has to consider the following attributes
1. the audience
2. knowledge level of the audience
3. Time period of the workshop.
4. ambience.
5. training materials.
one should strictly concentrate on this criteria for a suceessful training program.
then when you go for training materials, the material should have a clear and brief description about the workshop and the training that takes place.
thats it......

Hi Smitha,
The information you need is actually the A to Z of Instructional Design and it could actually take a big book to explain.
If you are keen on looking at Training and Development there are two course that you could look at which will really help you in learning more about Training.
1) Diploma in Training & Development, ISTD, New Delhi
2) Certificate Course in Instructional Design, Symbiosis Distance Learning
CCID is a very practical approach to the subject.......
If there is something specific in terms of practical tips on training and ID that you want to know please feel free to contact me.
Cheers,
Vivek.
