Dear All,
Recently I have got a job in a MNC company based at Malaysia. They are going to start up their operation in India. For training purpose I have to stay in Malaysia for a period of 6 month. They have offered me a salary of 21K.In Malaysia they will provide me the accomodation but food & transporation cost I have to bear on my own.
As I am not aware of the cost of living in Malaysia,Kindly let me know if anybody has any idea about it.
As I have to take a decision, please help me out.

I don't get it Kasturi.
You said the accomodation is borne by the Employer.
Are all the figures you gave those THAT ARE BORNE BY THEM? OR will these be DEDUCTIONS from your salary? And did you have to pay anything to them for this opportunity?
Suggest give the full picture if you want a clear & practical advice.

All the figures that I have mentioned (i.e the malaysian allowances ) will be paid by them.It will not be deducted from my salary.I need not have to pay anything from my end for this oppurtunity.
I am worried about the cost of living in Malaysia.Accomodation will be borne by the company. But my everyday' cost i.e food, transport, medical etc wiii be borne by me.
So,my query is will the salary offered i.e (21K) will be enough to stay in Malaysia.

Let me repeat the way I got it Kasturi.
Your Indian salary of 21K will be given to you in M'sia in the local currency. This will be apart from the accomodation cost, which will be borne by the company. Pl. confirm if this is what you meant.
If that's correct, then FIRST FOREMOST, pl. begin to think in terms of Ringets & NOT Rupees from now on. This is the usual tendency all of us have....it makes the calculations go haywire.
I just spoke to a friend who is in KL and this is his feedback: With your salary, it would be a BARE existence...don't think of any savings at all. But usually for a comfortable living [w/o accomodation being counted & NO savings] he says the comfortable level of salary should be around MYR 2200-2500 p.m. [Your Rs. 21,000/- will work out to MYR 1750/- @ MYR= Rs. 12/- approxly].
So you decide-depending on what your priorities are.

Better dont go unless you clarify all things,,
even I got an offer of pay of INR 24000 at Dammam KSA , but after calculating in Riyals it worked out to just 1800 with free accomodation,, and upon asking my friends I found that it will be really tough to survive with such amount so just dont go on salary,, and if your indian equivalent is the same then dont go for such overseas offers,,, ;);)
