Dear All,
I'm Harshal working with top tier conslting firm in Bangalore into the HR. I would like to discuss a issue and have suggestions on the same.
A candidate joined us by November end and due inevitable reason had to quit by december mid. We paid the 5 days November salary by cash, (as the salary bank account was not opened) at the start of december month. When the candidate quit, we promised to pay the remaining days salary by the January mid.
Now, we are paying the remaining days salary by cheque, whereas the candidate says, she doesn't have a active bank account and wants the salary by cash only. To add up this, our salaries are processed by the corporate office which happens to be in Delhi.
What do we do in this situation? What are the legal options with the company and the candidate?

Harshal, You can give a bearer cheque to her that is equivalent to cash. She can go and withdraw the cash from the bank as it not an account payee cheque. - Payal
