Dear All Please tell me the max. amount of PF that can be deducted from the employee salary?
From India, New Delhi
Employer side you can deduct max 12% of basic
If any employee wants to contribute extra (employees Cont.) than the employee can give a declaration and ask the employer for higher cont. from employee side i.e. an employee can allow the employer to deduct 20% on basic but no interest is payable on extra cont.

The answer lies in your query only. The basic salary of your employees may be higher than Rs. 6500/- & your employer might be paying the pf contribution on actula basic salary. Regards Manoj

Hi All, If the employees Gross Salary is Rs.10000, What should be the minimum PF amount to be paid? Kindly post your views. Regards, Murali.G

Dear Pooja and others,
If an employee draws basic+da more than Rs.6500.00 pm. Than it's employee's wish to remitt PF contn. on the excess/higher salary vide 50% of Basic. Similarly the Employer has obligation on Rs.6500.00 only. But, howervre if ER also may wish to pay the contribution on the excess (higher salary).
