Hi, The company’s have to maintain a attendance register, or they can opt for a electroninc data machine that will do.
From India, Gurgaon
Yes, they will accept electronic data but you need to get an exemption under the Act from respective authority. Once you receive exemption, no need to maintain attendance register.

Dear Anuradha,
Most of the software industry are now working out with the flexible working hours maintaining the attendance register is just to take a record for the payroll. As others said we can go ahead with electronic data once we get a excemption from Labor department.
Thanks

Where are you located? If in mumbai, Bombay Shops & Est Act will be applicable to you. In that case, you will have to apply for exemption from maintaining manual records.
