Dear Seniors,
I am starting a new thread first time..So please Help me out.
i am working as officer HR in a manufacturing unit.My educational qualification is LL.B and also i hv done PG diploma in business administration(Distance Learning).
My problem is i hv no fixed job profile..i am currently handling legal cases,Adm. functions such as canteen...housekeeping..Company's mess...maintanice of Guest houses,Recruitment at initial levels,Co-ordinating in Training And Development...manpower requirments...Assisting in Pollution control board consents& renewals.
I am not handling Statutory compliances as we r having separate person for this.
My problem i am not getting experience in HR area.....i hav completed almost 1 year and i have passed through long probation period of 8 months....i am very confused about my career.....
i am planning 2 leave my present company bcz there is no more learning in my job.
Should i quit the job....because they are also paying me less acc. to my qualifications...
A sense of fear in my mind because i dont have experience in PF& E.S.I and every1 in HR field want a person who have full knowledge of statutory compliances...
In my present co. focus& emphasis mainly on production not on Other Welfare& motivational policies like gd companies...i have tried it but all in vain..
So all are requested to suggest me what to do.???????
Please Help me out....
Waiting for positive Reply from All my seniors...!!

Dear
Freshers as well as esperienced for 2 to 3 years have the opinion of HR means recruitment, simply interviewing candidtes.
Please note that HR related matters differs from employer to employer based on teh size and strength and nature of business of the company. For a small org having 25 to 30 employees need not to have a Manager for HR functions. A single person can handle personnel, Recruitment, grivenance, liaison and other admin works. In this case recuritment will be very less. Then there is no meaning of crying for recruitment activities.
In companies where employees's strength is more and production activity is very large and independent department of HR where personnel, recruitment, training, statutory complainces can looked after under the head of HR manager with support of few executives and assistants.
In some cases, admin also looked after by HR Manager himself considerign the volume of the company.
Basically, HR have two divisions, one is HRM and other is HRD.
HRM deals with recruitement and other personnel related works.
Wheras HRD deals with Induction, training and other develoment in HR related areas.
Fo this you have to look for a change in organisations where moren HR practices are being implemented.
If you gor fo small scale or medium scale indutry all will be messed up under one umberlla i.e admin dept.
Be clear yourself, in wihch field you want to accomplish. As you are a LLB you have the bright future where production and manpower volume are more.
All the best.

Dear Mohit,
Which you are doing right now is nothing but a part of HR. Each & every function & responsibility of your life will make your knowledge more colourful. Only taking care of compliance is not a major part of HR. HR is also like an ocean. There are so many functions w.r.t. HR i.e. recruitment, T & D, PMS, ER, IR, succession planning bla....bla. So no need to get scare. Just concentrate on your job & try to explore new task within your organization. Meanwhile try to get a new oppertunity with the JD which you are looking for.

Hi Mohit,
No worries, if you are not doing core HR still you are doing all HR related activities.
Do not think that I am PG in Business Mgmt so I will not do Admin jobs or other related jobs, take it as a challenge and think from learning point of view.
If this is your 1st job then don’t consider it is not justice to your qualification.
You are handling a legal case which is an aspect of HR only.
I will say - gain as much as you can. Because this is an opportunity for you to learn more & explore yourself.
And do not leave the job before getting another one.
With lots of Good wishes,
