Hello,
The right thing to do in such a case, is to write back and seek clarification of your doubts, but what one would like to know is:

The right thing to do in such a case, is to write back and seek clarification of your doubts, but what one would like to know is:
- Whether the signatory to the offer letter an employee of the company?
- Had you met the said person during the course of your interviews?
- Often good and reputed companies do not reveal the negotiated package in the offer letter but stick to it while issuing the Appointment Letter when the person joins. Is this company known to be this type of a company?
- Had you approached the company through a third party (meaning a placement agency)? Does the signatory to the offer letter belong to the Placement Agency? Usually Palfcement Agencies are NOT authorised to issue Offer Letters.

Hi Kavita,
1- Generally 3rd party consultants hire people on their rolls and then depute them to one of their various clients sites, since the employment may be dependant on your continuity of service with the client company they may not have mentioned the duration of contract. BUT all professionally run organisations mention certain clauses in their contract eg " Your appointment letter is valid only on deputation at client site during their project duration" etc....." in short you will be on bench(read not paid in certain cases) if you are not deputed at client site.
2- It is only fair and yoru right to know your terms of employment . It is best that you meet the concerned HR contact in this new organisation and get your doubts clarified. Your offer letter is not valid without an authorized signature . The terms of contract are also ambiguous.
3- Ideally do not make any payments or sign any bonds if the company insists unless you have weighed the pros & cons
4- Also have a clarity on the company you will be working for, there could be a possibility that the client company may be located at a place far from home and you may end up investing too much time & money in commuting as compared to the salary being offered, which is a bad bargain.
5- Nevertheless you should try getting a job with a company which follows fair business practises. Today people accept multiple offers and then decide which company they would like to join. If this is not a do or die situation invest more time in finding a better option in the market.
All the Best !!

Hi Kavita,
This is the common problem that most of the candidates are facing these days when they receive the offer from a reputed organization. These days companies take a stand not to share these information at the time of offer to avoid misuse of the offer letter.
We also do not share the salary bifurcation and designation part in the offer letter. But we give the signed offer letter mentioning that their designation and the salary would be as per the discussion we had during our meeting or the discussion over phone and we stick to that at the time of joining.
But here it is third party involved so u need to be careful and u should be very clear about your payroll employer and about your cliet that you are going to work for.
If you find this opportunity good you can clear these doubts and if you are satisfied with the answers you can always go ahead or else you can always wait for the better oportunity.
All the best.

Is this an offer from other country? There have been similar cases and tehn they start asking for all types of fees in dollars. If the source is not known and the letter is not signed, just forget it. You will get better opportunities in future.
I rather prefer you to contact the person and have a visit to the campus. Don't just accept the offer and join the company and moreover i was surprised to see that he is gonna give the salary break and other details after one week, i donno wats the motive behind that?
Frnd, go and have a visit, wash off all your doubts and then join with out any confusions in mind.
Healty mind works better than an unhealthy one...........so keep rocking
All the best.

Hi Kavitha / Surendar,
All practices are generally devised by the HR head. First giving an offer letter and then giving the appointment letter and disclosing the sal breakup is untrustable. It leaves a bad opinion on the company. It is better to issue the entire pucca letter with all details to candidate.
Many companies follow the method of issuing offer letter in instalment basis and it amounts to mockery.
Even if you give the delayed salary breakup details after a week of joining, any candidate who has decided to run away will anyway run away the next day or next week or next month. Why fear him if you pay him the right salary? He will not be tempted to run away.
I am currently heading the HR in Epublishing & Finance BPO in Chennai and I disclose everything in one letter itself. I have drastically reduced the unwanted paper work and double work. There are no confidential reasons or anything like that in offering a job. The market pay standard is clear and why fear about the candidate. It is all in the hands of the HR and in his words.
The retention in our company is vey high and the attrition is around 3 percent only annually. Quite unbelievable..?? True. When our company went for IPO recently, other company CEOs in Mumbai had asked my CEO about this achievement. Now the model that I devised is called as the 'Chennai model' by the Mumbai management.
If a candidate suspects you at the time of getting offer letter, then nothing can hold him back. Always be clear, transparent and true. The result pays you.
