Hi Sir
My husband left his job with a software firm one year back. He neither got it transffered nor got the money refunded. I want to know for withdrawing the PF amount, can we deposit the form in Delhi office or we need to deposit at chennai only. Also if we dont have the details of amount deposited in PF account, can we still get the form submitted?

If you know the PF account number, you can submit the withdrawal forms (form 10 C and form 19) to the EPF Office where the PF was maintained. If the employer (previous) could not be traced or if the employer refuses to sign the forms, you can get your (husband's) signature attested by your Bank Manager or by a gazetted officer and submit them. It is not mandatory that the withdrawal forms should be sent through the employer.
Alternatively, if you want to get the account transferred, send form 13 through the present employer giving particulars relating to the past employment. Here, no signature of previous employer is required.

PF amount from the PF Trust of an exempted establishment shall be withdrawn from the respective trust fund only. But for transferring PF account held in trust to an unexempted provident fund the same form 13 (Revised) shall be submitted. In such cases, the employer will submit the application for transfer to the previous employer with a copy to the PF Commissioner.
