In our company we are having an excellence awards function. We want to give away some gift when we receive the guests (employees). What can be the innovative idea for the welcome gifts? it can be anything .... theme of the awards is "Excellence"..
Please suggest me something ! !

Hi Manju,
Hereby suggesting few gift items:-
1) Silk neckties for corporate promotions/corporate logo ties or promotional caps are one of the most commonly used momentos or coffee mugs with logo..
2) Business planners/organizers
3) Table tops
4) Candle Holders/business card holders/paper weights or diffusers and yummy chocolates
5) Nautical items viz: binoculars, porthole clocks, sand timers, magnifying glass, wooden ship steering wheel, nautical sextant....
6) Leather articles - bags, purses, folders...
7) Head bands, bandanas, sippers, mousepads...
8) Funny mini duck - has a good elegant smell, and could prevent form eroding..
9) Brassware and brass handicrafts
OOPS!! I have to rush for a meeting......

If you really want to be innovative..first find out discretely as what those who are going to be awarded ..are fond of ?..their preferences & dislikes..may provide some food for thought !.. :D

guys i feel that these are old ideas to do.....
most of these would not hold importance to the employee as it is just a gift not an "Excellence"....recognition so that an employee feel motivated and can share his/ her feelings to some of its peers.

1. arrange for a dinner in a very good family restaurant
2. give them a watch;carved on it "Excellence of the year"....

we want to give away these gifts to everybody who are invited for this function (approx 600 pax)! i guess the 'excellence for the year 2006' written wrist watch idea is good one.. :) ..
does anybody has some other idea to share?

We gave our people a small sapling.
The ones that were left behind were taken home by teh oragnising team members and now those saplings are flowering all over my collegues houses.
U could also ask them to plant it in your campus or something if they are ur employees, then u would have an everlasting memory of the event.
Even if u do not want to plant it in your campus, it says a lot about what u stand for. Along with it for memory sake u cld give a standard keychain or pen with that excellance thing engraved on it
