We are rigorously following equal employment opportunity Act in our company. I am hiring for a particular job profile wherein I require only female candidate. Am I violating the law?

In India there is no laid down Equal Employment Opportunity Act unlike the US. There is a constitutional provision for Right to Equality as well as prohibiting discrimination on the ground of sex, et al, by the State Administration. So depending on work suitability, if you are limiting the choice to female candidates it will not be violative of Indian laws.
