Start by asking why induction -
-Familarise the person with the Company - history ,business , structure, key people etc.
-Information abt policies applicable and procedures to be followed
and
- Whom to contact in case of what.
- salary breakups and detailsof deductions etc
You may also want to give a tour of the facility.
How to do this - a power point presentation or a handout to the person with a one to one explanation.

Yes this is actually the induction wherein you would be getting familiar with company history, present things and about future prospects..
The policies and strategies of the company would be discussed in the induction only..
And the most important thing is, you are responsible to introduce each n every employee in each department to the new joinee also to make understand the KRA of the new Joinee comes into induction part.

Hi, on the matter on induction, from my experience in designing and conducting induction programme, you might want to ask by how much can a new staff absorb in a given time. What I mean is, the traditional induction approach would load a new staff with all the 'information' without taking into consideration what's the main priority in the staff's mind.
In my experience, we broke the induction into 3 stages. We call this programme on-boarding. It is more effective because at each stage, we address the new staff most immediate need. In stage 1, it would include activities like team-bonding, a concise history of the company, its policy, organizational structure. In stage 2, it might include things like the processes, the activities that goes on in the staff's department and stage 3, would focus on the organization's mission, vision, values and expected behaviours.
Hope I didn't confuse you. Cheers mate.
