Hi All,
Myself has recently joined a growing IT company as an On-boarding HR. We do have good practices to on-board the resoucres. As common practices, we have BG Check, Pre-medical tests, etc which has some challenges too. The thing now is I would like to delight the new joiners in a much bigger way. How can i interact with them (to give a pleasant feel)? Would like to make their joining experience really a memorable one... Can I get some suggestions on this? Thanks!

Dear Ms. Aishvarya P,
Welcoming the new hires with the Employee Orientation is quite customary to all companies delivering topics that are conventional to providing information about their company overview, presentation etc & make the employees feel that they are investing in 'em. Instead your idea is certain and probably employees would feel much keyed-up to start their work affirmatively.
- Presentations all time! Give them some regular gaps and ask their opinions in how is this taking and where they feel sonme improvements can be made-- Trust this makes employees feel special.
- Welcoming on a contemporary note -- hand them with Pens, Pads with company logo & try even coffee mugs which cheer-up the employee and make them feel that "Company Cares"
- Instead directly handing out the company's "Need to Know" copies, you start using real life examples; at the outset enquire what do they think scenarios (management bios, organizational charts and company events)
- Preeminent practice for rejuvenating & invigorating the employees are by providing a map and a walking tour of the facilities.
The above is to one side when considering the first phase of doing indifferent from any other orientation programs is the arrangement of class room, information necessary to be learnt pinned to the lath (cloth board).

Hi Aish,
with offer letter you can send the First Day in Office schedule. And in induction u can play some relevant games which helps you to know about employee's interested areas. Apart from that you can start one full day session and can give a name as per your choice and where they can have lunch together and some games with some spl. info. you can give some guddies if you want.

In addition to what Sharmila had suggested , here are two practices for Onboarding. They aren't very expensive or need to make a lot of change, but yes, did report to bring in a difference.
