I worked as Assistant Professor for three years with one day break in salary in a Central University. Every academic year I had pursue advertisement and had to appear in interviews every year. The appointment letter states my position "purely on temporary basis not exceeding one year or till the regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier, on the following terms and conditions:
1. You will be entitled for a salary at the minimum of the pay in the Pay Band of Rs. 15,600 –39,100 + AGP 6,000/- plus allowances admissible as per the UGC and government norms.
2. Your service will be governed by Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations and Rules of the University/ GoI/ UGC which are in force and issued time to time.
4. Your appointment is purely on temporary basis and therefore does not vest any right to claim for regular appointment in the University or for continuation of services in the University.
5. If any declaration/information furnished is found false or if any material/fact is found suppressed at any stage, the appointment will be terminated forthwith.
7. This appointment is purely on temporary basis and it can be terminated anytime by the University without assigning any reason or giving any notice.
8. The employee shall have to give one month notice or deposit an amount equal to one month remuneration if he/she wishes to terminate his/her services in the University."
all sudden on completion of my third tenure of one year academic session in 2016, the university orally said: now there is no vacant post in your department while there was a position vacant. How can the position be evacuated all of sudden?
Can I claim for my job permanently?

Your appointment order is clear and categoric that the appointment is purely temporary and is for only one year at the maximum. So it is not going to be of any help in claiming permanency. But you need to critically look at the applicable government rules/UGC norms as to whether they help you in any manner. You may have to seek guidance from service law experts who are familiar with the State Rules and Regulations.
