Is it mandatory to mention the Reason for taking annual leave? In many companies annual leave is called as "vacation / privileged leave".

Replyswagata: The reason for taking annual leave is 'annual leave' :laughsoutloud:
But on a serious note, what is your issue? If you can detail it right, you'll get the right responses.
An open ended question like yours, will only invite ambiguous responses and some contributors will go as far as to talk about the necessity of leave in relation to work and work/life balance, etc - Is that what you need? Or do you want help in framing a leave policy?

In some companies the reason for taking Annual Leave is asked for, if in case of any need wherein the employee is required to be called back they should know the reason behind the annual leave. If the employee is in leisure trip the said employee can be called back on emergency, but if the employee is on Annual leave for his/her marriage the said employee can be called back. It is not that reason of taking Annual leave will be of any harm to the employee. This is purely my view please wait other members to respond.
