Can two factories in the same state have the same factory Manager. Is there any rule that the factory manager should be an employee of the said factory only?

Example: Mc. Donald's has 10 to 15 branches in all the states, then tell me in all the branches only one manager is working. NO, different branches have their different managers.
There is no rule you can keep thousand managers in your company, when you are able to pay their salaries as per Act's Amended for them.

But my question was whether Factory A and Factory B located in two different cities can have the same Factory Manager under the Factories Act, 1948 and the Rules therein.

Hi, Arunkumar There is no such rule if your companies are located in thousand cities, there is no such rule manager should be same.

I think my question is not being understood.
I am not talking of "whether manager should be same in different units" - my question is -
a) We have two manufacturing units in the same State - each had its own Factory Manager as defined under the Factories Act and Rules and accordingly indicated in the Factory licence.
b) One of the Factory Managers (Factory-A) was transferred out to some other state.
c) My question is whether the Factory Manager of the second factory (Factory-B) can officiate as the Factory Manager of the first factory, under the Factories Act and Rules.

A common Factory Manager may be possible, albeit temporarily. For practical reasons,it is better to have separate Managers. Or else the poor guy has to shuttle between two factories..

I managed to get feedback from the Dy.Chief of Factories regarding this - his feedback was also the same as yours - we have been advised not to have the same person officiating as Manager under the Factories Act, since he is responsible for day to day functioning and hence handling two different factories (which in this case is quite some distance apart, even though it is in the same state).

Manager under Factory Act is Considerd responcible for the implementing Health safety & welfare provisions , discussed under Act. since Health & safety are 24 hours issue , it is expected that, person who is employed in that particular plant can give propper attention to it,
more over in case of accident / on site emmergency activities role of manager is very important , & person sitting, say 100 km away from the plant cant control the sitution , or cant give propper advise in case of emm. hense it is allways advisable , that Manager should be separate for separate plants.
