Factories Act, 1948 section 49. define Welfare officers as follows. Please check the state government notification that your pass out degree has been recognized as qualification for welfare officer under the Act
(1) In every factory wherein five hundred or more workers are ordinarily employed, the occupier shall employ in the factory such number of welfare officers as may be prescribed.
(2) The State Government may prescribe the duties, qualifications and conditions of service of officers employed under sub-section (1).
Once employed in a Factory, the Management has to inform the Inspector of Factories, about the appointment of Welfare officer. Based on the qualification and condition of service approval would be given.
