Dear HR professionals,
I have done diploma in HR and Masters in Human Resource Management from reputed university in june 2013. I am a carrier oriented person. Because of recession in market,i did not get a job in any company. Currently i got a job in other university as a executive counselor in admin department & it\'s about 15 days of my job. Here, my query is, though my area of interest in core HR and i am doing a job of executive counselor in an university. so, once i quit with this job after 1 year so will it be possible to get a job in any reputed organization? will my experience be counted? Is is a risk which i have taken with my career?

Hi,
1. This experience will consider in same field, so i hope in which domain and in which field you are interested you need to continue in the same field.
because relevant experience will matters.
for example if you will go for IT company after this experience you will be consider as fresher for IT industry because working in university as counselor is different profile and working in IT company as HR Executive is different profile..

Hi,
First join some small manufacturing industry .Get overall knowledge about each
aspect of HR ....then you can jump to a better or bigger organisation .
If you want to make career in core Hr then working for some education institute
as a counselor is of NO use i think .

Hi Monali,
Your work experience as a counselor does not add to your experience for HR Executive. But the responsibilities can help you to explore the working conditions and most important your communication skills. Communication skill is very important for HR Role and you can add that to your resume. So Noe
HR qualification + Communication Skills can help you to apply for Employee Engagement Executive, Negotiation Department or Administration.
We provide HR Functionality Training and Workshop where you get an exposure to HR Key Roles and Execution. Please call on 8605610361.

Since you got the employment as counsellor, its OK, but on the other hand, try to get a job in any factory whether it is big or small, but you should have the perseverance to join the HR field. Also justify yourself which field you will be interested in HR. Go ahead. All the best.
