Amar Godra
MNC manufacturing Company, Finance Manager resigned 3 months ago , there seems to be big financial gaps (unprofessional manner)
I need advice on the possibility of sending a notice or claiming all gaps to him after his resignation.

Dear Amar Godra,

Your post is vague and does not provide adequate information. Please confirm whether the Finance Manager is still serving the notice period or has left the company. Secondly, what do you mean by the financial gap? Did you discover any fraud or misappropriation of funds? Did you find incorrect entries in the books of accounts?

Whatever the financial irregularities may be, ask the Finance Manager for an explanation. If the explanation is not satisfactory, then order the domestic enquiry. The officer appointed to conduct the enquiry should be competent enough to understand the complexities of the finance department. The focus of the enquiry should be on what happened rather than on the person.

If you order the enquiry, then issue a letter to the Finance Manager stating that his resignation is held in abeyance. His release would be subject to the outcome of the enquiry findings.

Even if the Finance Manager has left the company, you can order the enquiry to find out whether any misappropriation of funds has taken place. If yes, based on the material evidence, you can file a police complaint.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
