Dear Vidhya I appriciate your experience & want to know that, our society really understand the importance of HR department or specially the process of purely merit based recruitment?

Hi Aman,
Yes, our society does understand the importance of HR Department. But there is a lot of evolvement, which is still required to happen. Also, HR function is still a support function, which will soon become a service function with client-customer relationship with other technical departments of the company.
And of course, any day merit based recruitment will take the organization a long way. We are slowly but gradually learning to decide and work for long term rather than just meeting short term goals. Sujeet (one of or forum member) rightly said, instead of just focussing on closing the mandate in hand, try to work for future potential job openings as well, which will contribute to strategic talent acquisition. We must all thrive for that.
Nothing can happen overnight, but I am sure each of us (HR professionals) are definitely working towards the beginning of new era in HR.
I hope I answered your question.
