Hi,

I hope for normal planned leaves you have leave card system in place.

For unplanned leaves with last minute information/ request through email , you may take print out of the email and get it signed by Principal and file it in the personal file of the employee.

Hi Lavanya

Please note that all the leaves need approval by the reporting managers/officers. Any leave obtained with out prior approval may lead to Absenteeism which shall be considered as Loss of Pay.

Approval shall be either in leave register, Leave application or even by the mail. As much as possible get the prior approval if planned leave & if at all unplanned better get the approval by phone or SMS & later by mail, leave letter.

Teachers can send mail to principle & principle can approve by mail as well which may be treated as evidence for approval.

Refer back to your school's policy on leave requests. This cannot be the first time this matter has come up.

If there is no policy, get the head of your organisation to make a ruling and then assist you in drafting an overarching leave policy for the whole school.

In reality all these policies should have been put in place when the school was first established.
