Dear Sir/Madam,
Due to recession in the industry and overall downfall in our sector, our company has been paying salary late or in parts to employees. I send all the employees their payslip each month (i.e. pay for full month) I wanted to know should i keep sending the payslips each month or NOT? Is their any legal complication in sending the payslip where salary isn't paid or paid in parts?

Dear Rutuja,
Wages Slip has to be issued to the employee at least a day prior to the date of disbursement of wages or salary as per the provisions of the Payment of Wages Act,1936 as well as the Minimum Wages Act,1948. What's more important is the disbursement of wages and not the issuance of wages slip for wages slip is a mere authentic document showing the details of components of gross wages receivable, deductions effected and the net amount to be received actually. If you are not able to pay the wages, mere issuance of wages slip becomes an empty formality only and it is not going to help either the Employer or the employee.
