I ran a company for two and half years. I had to shut it down. Now I am looking for a job, can I show my company name in my resume mentioning that I worked there?

You can show yourself as owner of the company.(if you were the owner)
Be ready to answer many questions-why it closed ,what type of product was manufactured/sold, what type of company etc.
Ability to run a company may be highly valued by potential employers depending on how you present yourself.
Everybody cannot set up and run a company.It is a skill and ability.

Dear Frnd.,
You said " that you owned a company 2.5 yrs then due to reason you have shut it down.
In my opinion Yes, you should mention it in your resume it will be advantage for you, just show them all the valid documents & reasons due to which you had to shut it down after running successfully for 2.5 yrs.
I believe what matter is your experiences you gained during those 2.5 year,a good organization alway looking for experienced people & with closing line i would like to say all the best for job new hunt & new role. Just be confident and show your leadership quality and your problems solving skills. :)
