Hi Please go through the linkes below once
Organizational development OD process
HRD – Some concepts

From India, Gurgaon
Dear Friends,
as per my knowledge, Organisational Development subject, deals with appropriate tools application on the basis of analysis /survey of organisational diognis, through sample questionnarries and based on feedback of the members of the organisations. After thorough analysis, proper proven tools ( Interventions, OD Intervention ) applied to reslove the issues and through continuous monitroing the effectiveness of the intervention measured.
Where as HRD is a total fuction, helps to integrate human resourece, developement, evaluate the perforamcne etc. on which the sucess of the organisation depends upon.
i think both is important, by at large if HRD functions effectiveness is obtained, less the requirement of OD.

You cannot separate OD & HRD. Both functions go hand in hand.and both have equal importance. Avinash Kanoray

Well in a nut shall, the way I look at it, Until their is development in HR their can not be progress in any organization, After all its the people who run the organization and take it to its great success.
Hope that throws enough light on you doubt.

Dear Friends ,
In my point of view also HRD is little more important than OD because as our friend wrote , if any organization's Human Power or Resources are not developed how can the organization itself be developed but I dont know how much I am right and how much wrong.
