Hello Paal,
What is your liking? Do you enjoy HR or Marketting? You surely will have your favourite. As far as career is concerned both streams offer great opportunities. It is your love and passion for what you do that will define how far you will go with career. My advice is do what you like/enjoy,what excites you.
Best wishes,
Pavan

Dear Paal Singh,
I would support Pavan on his comments. It is purely based on your passion towards the platform and not our comments/suggestions. Considering that you are handling HR operations, you need to check what type of marketing are you planning to step in. There are lot of streams in Marketing like; Corporate Marketing, Publisher Marketing, B2B/B2C Marketing, Services Marketing, Social Media/Web Marketing, etc. In which of these or any, are you planning to take? Always remember, that once you are out of HR Operations with some break, it would be really hard to get another opportunity in the same field, if in case you wish to in the future.
Would suggest to think well before your make a career change.
