Celebrating Valentines day is against our culture and may invoke employees to harass the girls. This may lead to either affairs or fights and then you have to handle both, if its affair others will watch the PDA and if it is fight then you are responsible for encouraging sexual harassment and if some SS, VHP comes to know your organisation will be gamaged. Kindly note valentines day is for celebration by lovers and has your organisation got equal no of couples. It is not like christmas or diwali.

And as a HR professional such thoughts should not come into your mind. Such thoughts are not in favour of maintaining office decorum kindly do get some knowledge on how to present in office.

seems you are not clear with the concept of valentines.....it doesn't have to necessisarily celebrated amongst the lovers. India has come far of now and people enjoy Valentines as a festival. We as HR professionals should take advantage of each festival and celebrate in order to add a spark in everyone's busy and monotonous schedule. It would add to a "Fun at work" culture.I don't think it's a bad idea. Anyways, thanks for your input.

1) Every employee will decorate his/her own work station.
2) We are even open for the spouses to come over & surprise the employees working with us & we've had many spouses who have agreed to come forward & do their bit. In one of the cases, Wife of one of the senior managers has agreed to come over & decorate his work station one evening in advance in his absence to surprise him.
3) All the department heads will be distributing Chocolates to Ladies working in his/her department.
4) Dress Code would RED for the day.
5) Lot of games like dance on the paper, karaoke, antakshari, bake the cake and many others are palnned for the day.
