First appraisal has something to do more on assessing the candidate on Behavioural skills, which includes punctulaity, accountability, social responsibility, general attire, it would include 25-30% on Productivity standards expected from you. Time Management would be another criteria. & abviously your self judgement & confidence plays a key role.

I could give you the parameters based on which the first appraisal process is carried out.
I did not get you on how do you prepare for appraisal, I don't think there will be any interview before you go for an appraisal. appraisal is given purely based upon the competencies & performance which I explained.
