Respected Seniors, Pl let us know whether Force Majeure can be added in Appointment letter of employee. Till now it was not a part of appt letter. Due to recent situation now employers will prefer it to be included in appt letter. Will it be illegal to add in appt letter?

Hi
Appreciate if you could elaborate as to where and for what reason you would like to invoke the 'Force Majeure' [Act of God] in the appointment letter.
Do you want to use that for termination or non-payment of salary?
Thanks and Regards

Dear Santosh,
Employer can add up anything, but will not sustain in eye of law if violates laws & rules of the land in force.
Further, the section 25 of ID Act deals lay-off & retrenchment which considers all the calamities (force majeure) you are talking of.
The payment of salary to the employee has been asked by the Govt under the advisory which is above all................
