I am working as an HR executive.Wanted to share/ask few things to all the HR sa out there. Well do you think its worth working for low income just to gain experience even if you have the capability to earn more? I mean to say is selfless service worth it? looking at the competition in todays market??? We give in so much of time and effort and you are not rewarded for what you are worth. Do you think its advisable?

Work for a low income yes if the company is really good at providing good exposure to all HR activies when you are a fresher,... but once you gain expereince in a reputed company then there is no point in working for low income. coz opportunities doesn't come to everybody especially when you are a fresher...

Hey Shippu
I understand how u feel...but for freshers, its necessary to gain experience atleast the first few years, so if you can afford to, don't concentrate too much on the pay...just try and gain as much experience as u can and build ur network in the industry, this will help you in the long run.
Once you gain about a couple of years'experience, things should be easy.
Switching jobs frequently is not going to help, as u will get labelled as a job-hopper.
So hang in there, things will get better!

Hey Deepa,
I guess you are right.Inspite of everything i am still hanging on for the right opportunity to come. I guess building network is very important and thats all I've been doing all these months and I have recognition as well.In the long run I'm sure it should help me.Lets see how things work.

if the job profile is really good, the same which you were looking for, then don't mind to work in slightly low pay package... and once gained experience then in future it will be beneficail for you, in searching for another job....
even if, you have joined big company with good pay package, and say profile was not good, then what you would have done?
"pay package is not everything, i think, in today's scenario job profile is atmost important to anyone and then followed by pay package."

Well compensation is important and it definitely is an added advantage if u get the right kinda place to work for with the right kind of pay.....but when u r a fresher then going for a good company and a profile is more important!!what matters at that point of time is to put a little bit of character in the CV with the name of the company and the experience that is gained from that company!!and then when enough experience has been gained......one can easily shift to a diff organisation!!and if u have noticed......when u r shifting a job......the new company mostly asks u about ur experiences with the previous employer and what u have learnt from him......they hardly ever ask u about the pay that u used to draw from the last employer!!
So a pay though important, experience and the organisation plays a more important role in the individul's part!!
