Dear
With reference to your query for age for contributing epf, it is submitted that there is no such limitation for contributing provident fund contribution, in standard business practice an employee retires from the service of company/firm/concern at the age of 58 years in general. There is provision of upper limit of age in Employees pension scheme which is 58 years of age of a member.
If the member is continuously contributing towards epf contribution either in the current establishment or in the previous establishment, he is required to be member of the epf scheme till the last day of termination of the services/retirement/superannuation etc.
The provision is stipulated in EPF and MP Act, 1952.

dear chirag
there is no age limit of EPF deduction but
for pension fund age limit 58
so if you are deducting PF of any employee more than 58 year age , deposit his /her pension share in Employer's PF Contribution

Greetings to all of you!!
The questions is whether a company should deduct EPF from an employee who joins after attaining the age of 58 years. It is a general opinion that EPF Act does not prescribe age limit but at the same time the EPS has a limit of 58 years. Since the EPF Contribution prescribes for 12% members' contribution and equal amount of contribution by the employer. The Act further prescribes that out of 12% management contribution, a percentage component towards EPS shall be remitted to Pension Fund. Hence it follows that it is not mandatory to deduct EPF in respect of a person who joins the services after the age of 58 years.
With good wishes.

One shoulx not confuse prescribed 58 year pensionable age
under EPS. Irrespective of attaining the age of super annuation
under EPS on completion of 58 years, one does not cease to be
member of EPF until he ceases to be in employment & till his
employment actually continues his coverage under EPF will aso
undoubtedly conti.ue upto last day of employment. There is no
doubt in this matter.

No need to worry on this deduction part. If you apload the wage details of the employee to the E-Return Tool, if the age of an employee is above 58 years, then the software automatically calculates the employer contribution of 12% to the EPF Account only. So both the sahres of 12% each will go to EPF account only.
