Payslip / Salary-slip is mandatory in case of Persons employed by an Esta on their Muster-Roll whereas Consultant provides Service for a limited/specified Service for stated period.

Dear Geeta, Consultants need to raise an invoice; and payment is made against the invoice. There is no payslip involved/required or to be given in such a circumstance. Regards Rahul

Pay slips are for employees. Consultant is not an employee. Thus, issue of pay slip is not attracted. Thanks, S. Sensharma

Based on the employment agreement we can employ a person on consultancy to avoid maximum taxation and he can pay applicable percentage of TDS. Thus we can issue pay slip which can be called consultancy fee slip. There is no legal binding that we cannot give any statement to the retainers or consultants.
