I am working as senior software engineer in an MNC for the past 4 months. In my offer letter it is mentioned that \"company is not liable to pay any compensation towards the notice period\". Does it mean I wont be getting any salary. I need to serve 2 months notice period. Is it legal for the company not to pay compensation when its employees are working during the notice period?

Dear Member...
It not a responsibility of company to pay a payment at the time of notice period , because notice period is not considered as your actually working period. and there is no need to you for work there more 15 days... after 15 days you may left that company and find some other companies.....
Best of luck for your future.

Dear Divya,
Notice period is considered as your working period for sure and you are legally entitled to receive the salary against it.
Allthough probably what they wish to say would be that if they terminate your service during your probation period, they would not pay the notice pay to you and terminate your service straight away. In such case you wont be working for 2 month for them but will be relieved on the same day.
Please also answer these questions to opine you better.
Whether you have resigned?
I which state of India you are working?
Have the Management given you any hint to terminate your services?

No, not all. The notice period also comes under working period and eligible to compensation.
