Now do they will arrest the person who will issue the BOD for that project? Do they? Someone made the mistake in project while they installed the plant i.e, choosing the wrong material, failure to inspect etc.,, Now they getting the result...

We are celebrating National Safety Week and taking pledges to cretae and maintain Safe and Accident Free Environment.But because of negligence of the fiew and by not providing adequate safety measures by the industrial units, these accidents are being repeated now and then......................
One more accident happend on Monday which claimed 2 lives , 4 hurt in blast at Hetero Drugs Vizag unit.A blast in Hetero Drugs bulk drug manufacturing unit in Nakkapalli, near Visakhapatnam killed two employees and injured four. The accident occurred between 5 and 5.30 p.m. in one of the units. About half a dozen employees were operating the reactor when there was a build up of pressure. This led to the blast, said a top executive of the Hyderabad-based company.
The Nakkapalli plant, set up in 2007, manufactures bulk drugs. It has nearly 3,000 employees and also several casual workers taking part in three shift operations. This is the first incident in the factory, located about 100 km from Visakhapatnam. The injured have been rushed to a private hospital, he told Business Line. According to reports, immediately after the blast, fire engines rushed to the plant. The pharma major manufactures active pharmaceuticals and finished dosages. It has been proposing to expand the unit in Nakkapalli. The company has a pharma special economic zone in Jadcherla, Mahboobnagar, close to Hyderabad.
The company is a major supplier of anti-retrovirals, having won global contracts to supply to different countries. It also has the license from Roche to produce ‘Tamiflu’, the anti-influenza and swine flu treatment drug.

THANK You, Dipil for the post.Even as I am reading this, TV is flashing news of accident at Fire Cracker factory in Jalgaon killing two. We need to remember that workers are not only killed in manufacturing units but also in all other economic activities.Only few become news for media. We are few who get disturbed. Look what happened in Delhi after the women was raped in the bus and then thrown out.How thousands came on streets to express their anger. FOr H & S at work how many would come out in open? Huge work is waiting for us. We need to see this as a social problem and social campaign need to be initiated. We need to engage more people to join the campaign

We need to find out the root cause of such incidences and attack on it. I feel the root cause is a system..... , the root cause is the corrupt system.....

As we started discussing, it is coming out that many such incidents happened in same day across country... Mr. Ramesh was pointing out two cases and PTRC was telling about one another incident... It's become regular news to the public, just read and forgetting...
I was going through the newspaper clipping attached by PTRC... The quoted comments of Bharuch Factory Inspector were seems quite surprising to me... He was saying that he has been already issued a closure notice with 14 recommendations to comply... With this whether his responsibility was over? By just given a letter can he wash of his hands? Will this is the privilege what our legislation allows to such a reputed post person? Whether he is not having any responsibility to ensure the factory is closed if it is operating with that much hazardous operation without required protection?
PTRC was mentioning about the public movement that happened in Delhi after that girl's gang rape... But see what the outcome is???? How many such cases been repeated after that including the latest rape happened with a victim aged just 7 years... The things will change when the enforcement gets strengthen... As said by Mr. Keshav Korgaonkar, when the corrupted system will change everything will become good... But how this will get change???That the question remains... May be as said by PTRC social campaign is one way, but as these kind of happening is a day by day activity in the country, who will be ready to gather everyday... Lot of practical aspect is coming... Why this social campaign is required? Our Govt. Officials are not aware about the country's condition and the day to day happening...
Finally according to my view, the Factory Inspector, who issued just a letter to the company and sits ideal and let kill the two precious human lives... Whether our law in the country protecting him or is that strong enough to legally go against him for non-delivering his part... Can the law is strong enough to take a criminal case against him? If these kind of string action happens in the country things will definitely change, or else few people like us will keep on discussing and wondering why these things happening in our country...

Corruption among bureaucracy, judiciary and political workers/party is so rampant that workers continue to peril. We need lot of selfless learned people to come out in their defense. Struggle between Kauravs and Pandavs are age old and will continue till the end of human civilization, though we can see that consistent efforts have brought human civilization to this point where we have no kings now (and many more achievements).We have to keep up good work what ever we can and progress inch by inch and leave rest of the work for the generations to come

The frequency with which such tragic events take place is alarming, and I'm not sure if we can lay the blame squarely at the government's feet either. No one, government inspector/company owner/ factory manager etc, wants a disaster, its prioritising profits over good good management that eventually cause these issues.
The key is Training, Training, Training. Companies need to understand that economic considerations should not take precedence over safety/maintenance training. All companies have schedules to keep, suffer from shortage of trained man power, delivery pressure and discpline issues, however this is not an excuse to cancel training.
The very economic considerations that cause companies to focus on the bottom line, keeping companies running equipment and people until either break-down, has to force them to realize that training is the key to ensure that disasters do not occur and that potential for disaster is not condusive to economic growth.
A simple 2-day course on Mechanical/Electrical Safety or Electrical Equipment Selection for Industry, or electrical safety techniques for non-electrical personnel could prevent most issues, since 75% of the disasters have an electrical origin. A course on root-cause-analysis could help you identify simple isssues and prevent repeated problems thus freeing people to run proper maintenance.
Providing continual-training is not only beneficial to the individual but also to the company.
