One of our employees wants to avail Privilege leave some time in month of February, this is for claiming the LTA amount for year 2011 but the issue He wants to avial leave for the LTA purpose he will be working in office due to project workload.
Is is possible to allow such a situation and should HR approve such leave?

In that case, the LTA amount is taxable. He can be allowed. Many companies are doing this practice. Regards R.Ponraj

Dear Arti,
You can ask the employee to not to avail the PL.
Get the LTA claim form filled and get his HOD / HR Mgrs / GM / or VP's signature (Basically whoever is incharge) with the note that he cannot go on leave due to work load, etc.
This way he can claim his LTA and also save his leave.
And yes the Amount will be taxable as mentioned by Ponraj.
