Hello!
I've joined my family business a real estate firm which has been running with a traditional system lately. Now, I want to transform it to an advance organization. So, for that first thing I need to define roles for everyone including my self. We're the partnership firm and I'm one of the director in the firm. Recently I've transferred my firm to a pvt. Ltd company.
So, how should I categorize designation for every individual from peon to owner ?
Thanks and regards,
Imtiyaz

Dear Imtiyaz,

To define the role of each individual, you need to start with the preparation of the organisation chart. Within the Directors also, who will handle what function i.e. Marketing, Operations, Finance etc.

Definition of the role apart, the further important thing is deciding the measures of performance. Quantum of performance must be decided and measured scientifically. Your future growth and decisions will depend on the information that you start generating today. This is best done by the designing the measures of performance across each function/department and thereafter individual.

I have provided consulting services to establish comprehensive Performance Management System (PMS) to one of the prominent developers of Pune. The elder brother is MD. He looks after Finance, HR and future business. Younger brother is Director and he takes care of Operations, Projects, Planning etc. Overall I found that they stick their area of activity and do not tress pass into other's domain. If you wish, I will provide the entire consulting services. I will turn the whole thing upside down. Feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
