Hello friends,
I want to ask opinion about a sensitive topic.
We recently asked a manager to leave the company due to improper conduct (internal investigation has revealed one-time financial impropriety).
The person pleaded with our MD, hence MD asked his to resign.
We soon found out that the ex-manager has joined another company at even higher position and salary.
We have received request for background verification.
We are in dilemma, should we mention the truth and spoil someone's career, or tell a lie and save someone's career?
Please give your views, what should we do?
Regards,
Sriram

Hi,
It is completely a decision which your organsation shall take. The only thing which needs to be kept in mind is, you need to have proper documentation of the fraud done by the employee as he left with the resignation and not the termination of employment. If you have the same then only you shall go ahead and give the actual and correct feedback to the new employer of the employee.
