“Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami called me twice during last week (asking to demit office). I didn’t reply to him anything...the Governor’s post is a constitutional post.
He is a representative of the President, he is appointed by the President. No responsible person has asked me anything in writing to (be) relieved of the post.

Dear Dr.JM,
It's nothing new happening, it's customary for many in the past to resign voluntarily if not avoidable embarrassments have to be faced by the incumbents. We can't find fault with anyone for these events. Legally present govt. has no constitutional jurisprudence but prudence should prevail. After all in India these are mostly political appointments, many a time very crucial for the ruling party in central govt.to stabilise their stake in states ruled by opposition which is the crux of the problem now also. Present position also proves it. But what is happening now is very much in open and nasty. Incidentally HR at the center will have no problem, but still they cannot afford to remove them summarily by giving one month's notice or salary in lieu thereof, no bond also existing, only chance is Hon'ble President could help. Interestingly was there any phone call from the Home Secretary to the President ? hu..hu..
