you need to devide payroll into four parts 1.employee details (token no., name, doj, designation, dept), 2. days present in month (including leaves/leave status must be shown), 3. Actual salary details (Basic, DA, HRA, Conv, Spl....), 4. Earned salary details (earnings of Basic+da+hra+.....) - Deductions like (PF+ESI+TDS+Profiessional Tax+ G. insurance+ loan+advance......)= Net salary.

Hi, check the Minimum basic rates prevailing in your state.
The basic should not be below that the minimum wages of related state.
for low grade salary u can keep the basic as maximum (should not be less then the minimum wages as per the Act) while for high grate u may fix basic rate as 25-30 % and then can determine other allowances keeping in view for I,Tax etc.
