Student Visa Checklist for USA ! - {Do it Yourself Guide}
FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ENCLOSED FOR REFERENCE
IMMOVABLE/MOVABLE/ LIQUID ASSETS:
· C.A. complete compilation.
· House evaluation / Land evaluation.
· Jewelry evaluation.
· Balance Certificate ( Minimum two years of Total Expense)
· Bank Passbook ( Last six months transactions)
· Bank Statements ( Last six months transactions) , if not passbook
· Affidavit of Support.
· IT. return papers. ( last three Years)
· Salary Certificates ( last three Years)
· Balance sheet of the company , if in Business
· Visa Application Form
VISA FEES / INTERVIEW :
1. Fill application at the Embassy.
2. U.S. Embassy
3. Bank Draft, in favor of the ‘American Consulate General’
4. Take passport, I-20, Financial Documents.
VISA PHOTOGRAPH :
White background.
Straight face ,no cap , no new hair style , normal face
Most important –size has to be 37mm-37mm square photograph.
VISA INTERVIEW QUESTIONS :
1. For what purpose are you going?
2. Why are you leaving India?
3. Do you have relatives in U.S.A.?
4. Why particularly this university?
5. Will you work in the U.S.?
6. What are your future endeavors/plan?
7. Why shall you return back to India?
8. What is the name of the university you are going?
9. Where is it geographically?
10. Which program are you enrolled for?
11. Why are you interested in that particular major?
12. Your father does service, how will you afford your education?
13.What are your test score marks ‘GRE/GMAT/SAT/ TOEFL?
14.When did you appear for them?
15.Show me the Bank Passbook/statements /bank certificate?
16.What is the length of the program you are enrolled for?
DRESS CODE :Dress up decently, a normal pair of Jeans, clean shirt will be fine. Please don’t try dressing up formally with Ties, Blazer coat, etc., remember you are a student.
AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW :
Be confident and clear, truthful and thoughtful, there may be some tricky question on the way, try tackling them tactfully.
WHAT TO CARRY IN YOUR VISA FILE :
-Your Fathers passport if available / visiting card
-Envelope in which your I-20 has come.
-I-20, passport.
-Draft For visa fees.
-37mm-37mm photographs
-C.A. statement –and annexure wise supporting documents
- Balance Certificate ( Minimum two years of Total Expense)
- Bank Passbook ( Last six months transactions)
- Bank Statements ( Last six months transactions) , if not passbook
- Affidavit of Support.
