Maternity leave under ESIC has been increased from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. Notification dated 20.1.2017 amending ESI (Central) Rules 1950 is attached for your reference.

Please confirm the maternity leave applicability to other ladies who are non covered under ESI ?
Under Maternity benefit act it was proposed to increase the leave period to 26 weeks from 12 weeks, but the bill
was pending for passing.
Please high lite on this issue and if such bill is passed, share the copy of GR / notification.

Would like to know that, what about those employees who have already proceeded for maternity leave ( i.e.84 days) and were due to join in this month or next month, shall they will be also entitled to get the extended maternity leave as per new amendment.
