Dear Rajini Akula,
Providing food during the extended working hours is a good welfare measure. After working late, it becomes difficult for the bachelors to cook the food after reaching home.
However, the welfare scheme also comes with attendant risks. Once the trend of providing food during extended stays is established, what if the few smart bachelors or even spinsters stretch their working hours for the sake of food? If the scheme of providing food in the late hours is started, then what about the transportation facilities for women during the night hours? The demands will keep on growing.
Asking for a policy on a public forum is okay, but weigh the consequences before introducing it.
Thanks,

It's a welcome measure. It's a legal welfare measure to maintain 'canteen' facility during a shift/at pre-fixed timings for providing tea/coffee, BF, lunch, dinner. This will apply during 2nd/B shift and 3rd/C shift also. However what & when to provide should be finalised at bi-partite meeting with union(s). Such measures should apply OT/extended timings as well.
