Hi all,
I am working with a NGO presently in communication department under PRO as a communication assistant and Graphic Designer. I do not want to be a Graphic Designer long so I decided to go for MBA from SMU. I want to know does Sikkim Manipal University MBA degree has worth or will it be beneficial to me. I have done my 4th semester recently and for which post I should apply at the beginning executive or what.

What elective are you looking at? You can, provided you continue working for your elected field of specialization alongside. Doing it while you work for an unrelated field or doing it without working, will have no value of course. And it is best if you joined as an executive or a trainee. Don't worry about the salary and all. Starting at the MT phase gives you the opportunity to make more room for your job folio later on to progress, for your seniors. Being an MT, you can always seek opportunities where you may suggest new procedures or SOP's, basically giving you to impress your management team with creativity and practicality. Go ahead and start a programme.
Best Of Luck

Thanks attrisenzu for the suggestions. I was also thinking to go as a trainee or as an executive at the beginning that will make a base actually for me to understand about HR. One more thing SMU degree has worth?

Glad you absorbed one half of the ideal. As I had written in the earlier post: SMU and others like such [IGNOU, IMT, SymBiosis etc]... all have the same leverage. It again depends upon how you execute your distance MBA [simultaneously while working vs simply doing it sitting at home]. Only if you are able to show that you have done both simultaneously, will it have some weightage over your Resume. What i suggest is, you can look at other options for MBA, if SMU to you, feels less competent, course-wise. Moreover, it is almost the same, in differing colleges / uni's.

Your worth is the amount of knowledge and skill you acquire. No university can make you successful .
But my advice to you is to enroll for some blended bridge courses with personalized mentoring and coaching like the one offered by Sri Ramakrishna international Institute of Management . You can write to email .

Thanks all for your valuable advices. Can anybody give me any company or consultant's reference where I can enroll to get the good job as I am also married so it would be very hard to step into new field or the similar salary scale should be provided.

If you are switching fields, the best thing to do is consult your current departmental heads. With a new field in question, chances are that an MT profile could be unlikely.

Hi recommended to choose ignou , central govt university who approve all the distance education in india & provide education/service with min cost.
