I used to work in a software company as a software architect. I was associated with them for six months, Due to ill health I resigned and requested them for an early exit, to which the HR head agreed.
I was told that I would get my salary which they had withheld earlier due to my sick leaves.
All this was discussed in the presence of my manager, the HR head and the HRBP.
But after the resignation, I faced a lot of mental harassment, as the company delayed my relieving letter and acceptance of resignation letter.
Till date my settlement hasn't been paid, it's been more than 2 yrs now, despite my innumerable follow ups on mail and calls.
What recourse, legal or otherwise can I take? The dues were around 2 lacs, is it advisable to take legal action for such a sum?... Can the mental harassment be proven by the mails I exchanged?
And can I get compensation for the same?
Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

Send them a legal notice asking for your dues.
Have you got an accepted resignation letter and company clearance on final exit?
Getting your full amount should be enough and unless you go toa corut of law the company is likely to pay any compensation for harassment.Proving harassment is not easy in a court.Time consuming and costly.
Do not let them retain your salary and final dues.Take it forcefully but politely for immediate payment by a notice as suggested above
