Dear sir, Previously all of the employees had no bank accounts, but now we made a bank account for all the employees, so they previously signed on wages register while taking their salary, but after the bank account opened they are not signing on wages register. Can it raise any legal issues in the future? Or not if yes what i have to do. Please suggest me.

Hi,
As per my knowledge as a contract employees employer we can mention Bank account number of the employee at the employee signature place, and also a paid proof your can submit RTGS reference numbers also. This type of process is accepted in Tamilnadu, karnataka, Telangana, Delhi, UP, Haryana.

The RTGS transfer amount with the account no and date is more than sufficent for the employer to prove that the salary was paid. You need to attach the same with the wage register. Also, inform the labour office of maintaining the salary transactions online.
There is no need to take their signatures.

Dear Friends,
I wish to point out following for information;
1. When salary is paid through bank transfer in the account of the employees, the signature on the wage register is not required at all.
2. You need to maintain virtual salary register with transfer details.
3. In olden times signature was mandatory as the salary used to be in cash and hence acknowledgement was required as a proof for payment of salary/wages.
4. This a recognized practice by the government authorities.
5. Our Prime Minister has been advocating this hence the digital proof to maintain the payment and its trail is there.
Warm Regards

Dear Friends

There is any black & white notification regarding signature on wages sheet even if we are paying through bank. My one of client is not clearing my bill in absence of signature on wages sheet. Though we are providing bank statement along with wages sheet. My client is saying it is mandatory to get sign.
