Hello everyone! We are a small start up with <10 employees in Maharashtra. I have few questions. Would be great if someone can help answer these.
1. Is there any limit on number of interns I can employ?
2. Are interns who are paid stipend considered employees under shops and establishment act? Does the company need to pay PF, insurance etc.
3. Can the student do part time internship in remote working arrangement (working from their place of stay) without seeking specific approval from their college?
4. Can a student just passed out from the college, seek internships in case he/she doesn’t have job?
5. What are the minimum legal requirement (in terms of documents needed from student, process, record management, any legal filing etc.) for an start up employer to take students as intern.
