Dear All,

Regarding EPF transfer of the account, please let me know:
1) How many copies of Form 13 (Revised) have to be filed concerning the inter-regional transfer of the EPF account of an unexempted enterprise?
2) Can the form be submitted (through the current employer) with the current RPFC? Or do the forms have to be sent to the previous RPFC?
3) Although the form does not specify, is any endorsement of the previous employer also required on the form?

Thanks,
Anup

Form 13 shall be submitted in duplicate if the transfer is interregional. In Form 13, no signature of the previous employer is required. It is to be sent to the current employer's EPF office, from where the same will be sent to the previous employer's EPF office. If the previous employer has not submitted the left employee's Form 3A and break certificate, the EPFO will have to direct the employer to submit the same. However, for the convenience of the EPFO, there are instances where Form 13 will be directed through the previous employer as well. In such cases, the current employer will have to send Form 13 to the previous employer's EPFO instead of the current employer's EPFO forwarding the same.
