Hi, Mr.
Why are you highlighting only the cola business?
Why not for tobacco, cigarette, wine, etc...?
Everybody knows the consumption of such things leads to health problems, yet we use them, and even the concerned government is allowing the production and sale of such items in the market. Why are we not persuading the parliament (MP/MLA) to not grant permission to operate such units? If there are no plants producing such harmful products, how and where will we get them?
My suggestion is to convince the government not to allow such plants.
It's easy to cut the tree's roots instead of cutting the tree stems/branches.
Regards,
Sidheshwar

Hi Rajkumar,

I concur with the views. Repeating my post elsewhere on this site:

"Plachimada is a place in Northern Kerala where the people of the village have been carrying a valiant fight against uncontrolled extraction of groundwater by the soft drink 'MNC.' It has been ongoing for quite a long time. Of course, politicians (as always) have been taking turns in trying to extract advantage out of the situation!

This piece of information was released a few weeks back.

Read through it................

Quote:

How Soft Drinks are Helpful

To clean a toilet:

Pour a can of the drink into the toilet bowl. Sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in the soft drink removes stains from vitreous china.

To clean corrosion from car battery terminals:

Pour a can of soft drink over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

To remove grease from clothes:

Pour a can of soft drink into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The soft drink will help loosen grease stains.

We drink this stuff!

Of course, to clean our system too.

After all, we are paying for it.

For your information:

The average pH of soft drinks is 3.4. This acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops building bones at around the age of 30. After that, it shall be dissolving the bones every year through the urine depending on the acidity of the food intake. All the dissolved calcium compounds get accumulated in the arteries, veins, skin, tissue, and organs, which affects the functioning of the kidney assisting in the formation of kidney stones.

Soft drinks do not have any nutritional value (in terms of vitamins and minerals). They have higher sugar content, higher acidity, and more additives such as preservatives and colorings. Some people like to take cold soft drinks after each meal, guess what's the impact?

The Impact?

Our body has an optimum temperature of 37 for the functioning of digestive enzymes. The temperature of cold soft drinks is much less than 37, sometimes quite close to 0. This lowers the effectiveness of the enzymes and puts stress on our digestive system, digesting less food. In fact, the food gets fermented. The fermented food produces bad-smelling gases, decays, and forms toxins, which are absorbed in the intestines, get circulated in the blood, and are delivered to the whole body. This spread of toxins can lead to the development of various diseases.

Imagine what the drink must be doing to your soft intestines and stomach lining!

Go ahead, and drink more!

Dil Maange............................................ .

Crores spent on ads, destroying the drinking water sources in several areas of the country (like Plachimada) and making enormous profits.

When will this exploitation ever stop?

Any comments?

Thanks,

Bala

Hi, I don't agree with the PowerPoint presentation at all. I have been drinking Coke for as long as I can remember. In a single day, I have finished a big 2-liter bottle of Thums Up - a Coke product, without experiencing any side effects. All of this negativity seems like propaganda against Coke. Anyway, these are my views - take it or leave it!

Hi all,

The last word on Coke vs. Pepsi is not yet out! Our great Health Minister (who created and is still in the process of interfering and messing up affairs at AIIMS) is in a superb hurry to bail the cola companies out. Dear Countrymen, wake up and fight against these politicians and MNCs with colas, genetically modified foods, seeds, etc. Happened to watch another one of those programs on the idiot box where the cola spokesman in his hi-fi Hinglish ridiculed the poor lady who found out pesticide traces in his product. What a pity it was, and the great channel says all this is democracy in full flow!
